Life is Virtual, most of it.

life is imagination
You shouldn't be surprised, if I say virtual reality is not a new thing, and most of our life is virtual.

we are living most of our lives virtually for generations. It's just now the same concept is labelled as  "Virtual Reality" and of course with few additional electronic toys, but it's the same thing we do on daily basis without any external electronic toy. We do it inside our minds.

I am sure, many times you have found yourself thinking about something, imagining something, planning something. wherein actual you were not doing that, were you?

So what do we do when we are thinking, planning or imagining? we create the entire world inside our mind and we live that moment virtually.

For example, if we are mad at someone, we fight with him in our mind before fighting with him in actuality. If you are planning to propose to a girl, we already proposed to her 100 times inside your mind. If we are excited about buying a new car in future, in our minds we have already driven that car, changed the gears, went above 100 kmph speed.

This all is nothing but living a virtual life, or you can say Virtual reality.  Because you don't know for sure if you will ever get to do the things you are practising in your mind. It might be possible when you reached out to the person you are mad at, he apologies so badly that you choose to be a kind-hearted guy, and forgive him. You saw the girl with someone else and dropped the idea to ask her out. By the time you are ready to buy the car, there are new models available at better prices, and you choose to go with a different car.

So all that planning, thinking, and practising was just virtual, and never brought to action in the real world. It wasn't a waste of time because it helps you to deal with the situation if things are going as per the plan, and it's a good exercise for the mind too, and yes there are things out there called "wishful thinking" and "law of attraction" which is fully based of this imaginary thought process.

let's talk in little more detail about what I mean by living in our minds. Take an example of a guy or girl, who just graduated and is ready to work. What he or she is thinking about ? the chances are he/she is currently playing a short or long virtual game within the mid.

The short virtual game can be, how they will prepare for the interview, give the answer to the interviewer, how the salary negotiation will go, how nicely they will impress the interviewer and crack the interview, how happy they will be when they will get the job and how much money they will be making every month after getting this job.

The long virtual game will be, how proud they will feel after joining this company and how happy their parents will be, how much money they will save every month. what are the things they will buy on which they were holding for long, like a new iPhone, a better place on rent to live where they will not feel shame inviting friends and the list goes on?

you got the idea of what I am talking about right? we all do this, on daily basis. If you don't trust me just pay attention to your thoughts and you will find yourself doing the same every day, most of the time.

No matter what work we are doing at that time, our minds spare some time in-between and auto start this very short virtual reality game. when you are watching TV, doing dishes, reading a book, in a meeting, walking, driving, eating, it starts automatically for a very short game and the funny thing is we don't even know when it starts and when it ends.

Most of the time our body is in autopilot mode. we start some work with little attention and once we get used to it, our mind put our body into autopilot mode and starts this good old virtual game. you simply go for a walk or wash the dishes or iron the clothes, during this time you are not only doing this work but also thinking of something else. The body is doing what was told to it initially, and now the mind can relax and play the game.

If you remember, when you learned driving, initially you were paying full attention to steering, brake, gear and clutch, and if someone was talking to you during this process you felt distracted or got angry. But once you are an experienced driver you don't pay much attention, your hands shift the gear when needed and your legs apply the breaks. You do talk to the person sitting next to you at the same time. but what do you do now when you are driving alone? you think of something- virtual game.

All the above virtual situations are happening during the daytime or when you are not sleeping. it's also called "Daydreaming" because when you are sleeping it's another leaver of virtual reality, called "Dreams".

Have you ever noticed someone sitting at a place with eyes open looking at the blank or nowhere? Yes, he is not looking anywhere but inside the mind playing a virtual game. means he is thinking of something. You know that he is thinking something because you saw him lost somewhere. you suddenly ask this guy what he was thinking and most of the time they will say "nothing" until unless this was not something intense or troublesome, they will not remember.

Now with these new electronic Virtual reality gadgets and platforms like Metaverse, you simply do the same thing on a digital platform that you were doing it before inside your mind. isn't it?

What makes me laugh is, if you are thinking of doing something in this digital virtual reality world, it’s like "Virtual life x 2"  because you are thinking ( virtually ) of doing something in Metaverse ( virtual ). lol
